Life is addiction
Addiction to a conviction. One that was made long before we could remember.
Determined to find ultimate comfort in a room that must constantly be rearranged a task without end and in the midst of our self propagated confusion, I meander trying to create a reason for what life is. We fabricate reasons for why we will or why we cant and they usually end with ourselves. In the middle of what my mind sees as the roads end I push in a fashion fit for the blind and stupid. Our incessant need for accomplishment, the equally obtuse need for respite and retribution. How many scars will I incur before I call it quits. Will I arrive at my destiny only to find I went the wrong way. If the way was wrong then how can it be my destiny, if destiny is simply my journeys end, then what’s the use of self motivation my arrival is invariably inevitable? Life is a practical joke. The kind that’s only funny if it didn’t happen to you. There are a lot of reasons to live and when I look closer I see the only reason to perish is destiny. Want it all to be more simple, the road should be smooth and straight. The days should remain bright with a calm breeze. Age denies us such denial. Life is easy until you get older. Life is the thunder behind the sound of a inner voice and life is the echo yelling back at us in our outer voice. Life is being careful what we wish for, life is wishing for it and wishing for more the moment we get it. Life is the difference between self-determination and blind ambition or is it the realization that the two are the same. The ability to do anything and absolutely nothing in the same breath. Ripe with nuisance life demands your loyalty. Pay the cost to be the boss with life’s universal pain currency. When the smoke clears through the fog beyond the sunset after the storm if only I can get to the top of the hill I can find the best way back to the bottom. Life is a large treadmill that we can all fit on, even the world is round, if we travel far enough in the same direction we will end up exactly where we began. Life is the best word to sum up our determination because life is a journey traveled with no foreseeable destination.
